Kanto (Including Orange Islands)

Ash’s journey begins in Kanto with Pikachu, and he picks up a classic team along the way. The Orange Islands arc is included in this region.

Do I have to catch every Pokémon exactly like Ash did?

No. The story events trigger specific captures, but you can also catch wild Pokémon that Ash never caught. You can build a completely original team if you want. The game doesn’t lock you into the anime path – you just get the anime events as side quests.

Can I evolve Gible all the way to Garchomp?
